Always Friday wins OYRA Spring Series, MORA Division
Antrim 27 Always Friday again won the MORA (31.5' and under) division of the SF Bay Area ocean yacht racing association this year. Congratulations, John and team!
Antrim 27's Take 1st, 3rd, and 4th on Vallejo 2008 Saturday
Three local Antrim 27's traded places during the downwind run from the central bay to the Vallejo river in the 2008 edition of the Great Vallejo Race, with a Farr 38 sneaking in between. The Antrims beat out several Beneteau First 10R's, J109's, J35's, and others, showing once again that handling bigger boats is no problem for the fast 27, especially in a downwind race.
Congratulations Always Friday! 1st Place, '07 Nationals
Five Antrim 27's competed in this year's Nationals, hosted by Richmond YC on San Francisco Bay. The two day event was part of Richmond's Sport Boat Invitational Regatta. Always Friday sailed very well in challenging conditions, 20+ knot winds with some waves. Congratulations!
Congratulations Arch Angel! 1st Place, '06-'07 EYC Jack Frost Series
Four Antrim 27's competed in this year's Jack Frost Winter Series, hosted by Encinal YC on San Francisco Bay. Wind was light to moderate for the first three days of racing and stronger on the last day, with boats reporting downwind speeds of over 14 knots. Not bad for winter sailing! As in many one-design races, places were constantly traded between the four boats during many of the eight races. Arch Angel, last year's national champs, pulled ahead before the end of most races and won the series. Congratulations Arch Angel, and thanks to Cascade (2nd), Always Friday(3rd), and Max (4th) for the exciting winter racing.
SAILsports: Your source for the Antrim 27, Ultimate 24 and Ultimate 20.
SAILsports representatives were in attendance at the Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show (April 18-22), talking up the boats and working hard to recruit new owners into all three classes. If you were unable to hook up with them during the show, you can contact them online at www.sailsports.com.
Congratulations to E.T. on your 2006 Pacific Cup Victory!
